A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1)

A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin no time for a review, must start the second book.

The Widow File

The Widow File: A Thriller - S.G. Redling short on substance and short on plot, luckily it's a short book.

The Atlantis Plague: A Thriller (The Origin Mystery, Book 2)

The Atlantis Plague - A.G. Riddle very well researched plot lines. nicely tied together. love the merging of history, science, fiction, and action. looking forward to the next installment.

Wayward (The Wayward Pines Series, Book Two)

Wayward - Blake Crouch Holy crap what a cliff hanger! Love this story, the second book was even stronger than the first. Can't wait for the next installment.

The Tournament

The Tournament - Matthew Reilly I expected so much more from this author. A very flimsy mystery that barely shrouds the authors own social and political commentary. Very disappointing.

Hild: A Novel

Hild - Nicola Griffith I haven't been that attached to a character or immersed in a story that deep in a long time. Overlook the Old English words and names and don't get bogged down in pronunciation. Like reading Tolkien for the first time. Just slide in and be carried by the story.

Fortunately, the Milk

Fortunately, the Milk - Neil Gaiman, Skottie Young Great children's book, it's a mash up of all things childish into one marvelous ride. Thanks @neilhimself for bringing us along.

My Lucky Life In and Out of Show Business: A Memoir

My Lucky Life in and Out of Show Business - Dick Van Dyke No revelations or seedy gossip, pretty much just read like a chronology.

Hood (King Raven Trilogy, Book 1)

Hood - Stephen R. Lawhead Good reimaging of this story. Lawhead doesn't disappoint as he makes us believe anew in a story we thought we knew.

Personal Memoirs: Ulysses S. Grant

Personal Memoirs - Ulysses S. Grant, Geoffrey Perrett Truly more than I expected. A great man and leader indeed.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane: A Novel

The Ocean at the End of the Lane: A Novel - Neil Gaiman, Neil Gaiman This is a truly great story. It pulls you end from the start and never let's you go. Usually I can't stand a book in the first person but this was perfect is of the form. I read this in the way everyone should read it, in one sitting. Find a quiet place, a comfortable chair and be immersed. Usually after I have read a book, it's just another number but this one will be read and read again. Only Stephen Kings Eyes of the Dragon has pulled me in so far as this story did. I won't sleep for a while tonight, not from fright, but from reflection.

The Strangler Vine

The Strangler Vine - M.J. Carter I just could not get into the story. 88 pages in and nothing was happening. All of the cloak and dagger secrecy didn't pull me in either. The first installment in a tiny book I could hardly hold and the second came as a PDF in an email? Sorry, just didn't work for me.

After Dark, My Sweet (Crime Masterworks)

After Dark, My Sweet (Crime Masterworks) - Jim Thompson Amazing story and one of few books I enjoy seeing as a movie. Jason Patrick was Kid Collins in my mind before I ever sat in the Tara theater in Atlanta to watch this adaption. I stayed to watch it again.

Cropper's Cabin

Cropper's Cabin - Jim Thompson Raw human emotion captured perfectly and succinctly.

The Atlantis Gene: A Thriller (The Origin Mystery, Book 1)

The Atlantis Gene - A.G. Riddle review to follow

The Goldfinch: A Novel

The Goldfinch - Donna Tartt sorry, couldn't finish this one.
